Syrian air defense repelled an attack near Russian Khmeimim air base

DAMASCUS, (BM) – Syrian air defense repelled an attack near the town of Jebla, located on the Mediterranean coast, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing RIA Novosti report on Wednesday, February 19. The news was reported also by Syrian state television.

“Air defense systems reflect an attack by hostile targets in the vicinity of the city of Jebl,” the report said.

Jeble is located near the port of Latakia and the base of the Russian Air Force in Khmeimim.

The last time Syrian air defense systems repelled a missile attack on the night of Friday, February 14th.

Then Syrian city was attacked by planes that came from the Golan Heights occupied by Israel. As a rule, it is the Israeli Air Force that attacks Damascus.

However, there was no official information about who is behind the attack, RIA Novosti has reported. Missile strikes were repelled also by air defense forces.
