At the time of the incident, the Minister’s board was in the airspace of Kosovo. The UAV approached the aircraft, reducing the distance to 150 km.

Several MiG-29s of the Serbian Air Force were lifted into the air to drive off the devices if necessary. At the same time, it was previously reported that the fighters made an honorary escort of the aircraft of the head of the Russian department.

As a result, the drone passed along the border between Serbia and Kosovo, but did not cross it.

Presumably, the drone turned out to be the MQ-9 Reaper or RQ-4, it is impossible to give more accurate information. According to the editor-in-chief of Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine Viktor Murakhovsky, such drones were seen, in particular, in the skies over Ukraine and over the Baltic Sea near the borders of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the largest RQ-4s in Europe are owned by the US Armed Forces.

Experts argue that such devices are capable of conducting electronic reconnaissance at ranges of up to 400 km, in particular, “taking off” the parameters of aircraft communication and control systems. It is known that from the board of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation it is possible to control both conventional and strategic nuclear forces, therefore this information would be highly appreciated by foreign intelligence.
