Turkey gathers troops and armored vehicles on the border with Syria
ANKARA, (BM) – According to the Anatolian News Agency, at present, units of Turkish special forces, as well as ammunition trucks, are being pulled to the borders, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
In particular, 43 wagons with armored personnel carriers were delivered to the city of Iskenderun by rail. The equipment is planned to be distributed between border military units.
According to the agency with reference to local sources, on the night of Monday 120 units of Turkish equipment entered the Idlib province, including Leopard tanks, armored personnel carriers and multiple launch rocket systems.
As BulgarianMilitary.com reported, on February 10, Syrian troops attacked a military base in the city of Taftanaz, and five Turkish soldiers were killed.
Turkey responded with massive shelling and declared the destruction of 101 Syrians. Turkish authorities have called on Russia to warn its allied Syrian army against attacks on observation posts of the Turkish army in Idlib province in northern Syria.
