Israel has used a civilian plane as a ‘human shield’ to launch strikes against Syria
MOSCOW, (BM) – The Russian Defense Ministry said the Israeli aircraft was using a civilian aircraft as a human shield during Damascus air strikes, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, quoting Russian agency FAN.
Ground services intervened on time and averted the tragedy – the aircraft changed course and landed on the territory of the Khmeym Air Force Base on the Russian Air Force.
There were 172 passengers aboard the Syrian Airlines Sham Wings.
Israeli aviation actions could cause tragedy. As with a similar disaster near Tehran, when Iranian air defense systems were signaled, Ukraine’s International Airlines Boeing 737 was brought down.
Israel threatened the lives of passengers by launching a missile attack at a time when the aircraft was approaching the firing range – and the Russian Ministry of Defense is convinced that this is not just a coincidence.
Spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, confirmed that Israeli radars clearly see the climate in the Damascus airport area. Accordingly, they may not know about the civilian aircraft.
The conduct of military operations in the air of the General Staff in the air, using a civilian aircraft carrying passengers on board to cover or prevent the Syrian Air Force’s response, has become a hallmark of the Israeli Air Force.
Konashenkov expressed his regretted. These operations by Israeli strategists threaten the lives of hundreds of innocent civilians.
The question remains – were the actions of the Israeli Air Force a deliberate provocation, and as a result, the Syrian air defense could bring down a civilian aircraft or a satirical tactical device?
It is recalled that in 2018 a similar case destroyed the Il-20 vks reconnaissance aircraft of the Russian Federation. Four Israeli fighters used them to “hide” from Syrian air defense – and as a result, a missile from the Allies struck the Russian side.
