Russian Su-35 fighter jet is more successful, better and beats Su-57, US said
WASHINGTON, (BM) – The American publication The National Interest notes that the Su-35 was a transitional option until the launch of mass production of the Su-57, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
However, the combat vehicle showed its high efficiency during a military operation in Syria. Journalists emphasize that the Su-35 literally “destroyed” its more expensive successor.
The publication believes that the Russian military sees the Su-57 as a long-term investment that will ensure the superiority of the Russian army in the world, but at the moment, the Su-35 was much more effective than a fifth-generation fighter.
Su-35 is the last combat aircraft built on the T-10S platform, which has become the basis for Su-27 / Su-30 family fighters and their modifications. The first flight of the Su-35 took place on February 19, 2008, the combat vehicle has been in operation in the army since February 2014.
However, even before the launch of the Su-57 in the Su-35 series, it demonstrated such high efficiency and functionality that it could well compete with its newer and much more expensive successor. Journalists of National Interest noted that, unlike the Su-57, the Su-35 participated in military operations of the Russian airborne forces in Syria, where it also showed its high combat potential and versatility.
The Su-57 has been mass-produced since July 2019. The military space forces should receive 76 units of the Su-57 by 2028.
Earlier, National Interest reporters said that the Su-57 will not be able to withstand the American aircraft F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II.
