Pakistan PM warns US for disastrous consequences in a possible war with Iran
ISLAMABAD, (BM) – The military conflict between the United States and Iran will have disastrous consequences, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said January 22 after talks with US President Donald Trump, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
The Pakistani prime minister noted that “war is not a way to solve problems, and the worst that can happen is a conflict between Iran and the United States and its allies, as this will have disastrous consequences.”
The head of the cabinet expressed confidence that common sense should prevail in the current situation, since the direct military confrontation between the US and Iran will affect the situation in Afghanistan.
Imran Khan emphasized that his country plays an active role in easing US-Iranian tensions: “We in Pakistan pray that this (military conflict – approx. IA Red Spring) does not happen, we tried our best, we already spoke with Saudi Arabia, Iran, USA.”
Recall that Pakistan maintains friendly relations with Iran and at the same time actively helps the United States and its allies in Afghanistan.
We also note that the population of Pakistan is very friendly towards Iran, especially the part that professes Shiite Islam. The killing by the Americans of Iranian General Kassem Suleimani was perceived extremely negatively – anti-American actions took place in many Pakistani cities.
