It is a tradition in Opticoelectron to pay particular attention to the quality of a particular optical sight. This is also the case with a product manufactured for a decade by the Bulgarian company, the MK-30 collimator.
A bTV report on January 12 this year showed the training of Bulgarian police and special units in the fight against terrorists, or a real threat to public order.
It turns out that the MK-30 is in service among the Bulgarian police. To find out more about this product we contacted Commercial director Eng. Boyan Garchev.
“The MK-30 is one of the old products in the company. In recent years, we have been developing upgraded versions of it, like our newest RDS 22 collimator. The MK-30 has been a product of several decades. You can make your own judgment about how high quality and durable it is when working with it. We have sold thousands of them and so far none were returned for repair or scrapping. Its resistance is unique – it operates in a large temperature range of -40 to +50 degrees and weighs approximately 350 grams,” said Boyan Garchev, adding “This sight is designed for urban environments – where a soldier or police officer must respond extremely quickly and take simultaneously several solutions in a short time. It can be used on any weapon – from Russian, to any western standard” Garchev concludes.

The MK-30 collimator has a NATO number (NSN), which gives the Opticoelectron the right to manufacture and sell it in countries armed with both Russian automatic weapons and Western weapons.
Some specialists or hunters, called this collimator as “speedometer”. I.e. the optical zoom is not large, but its lack is compensated by a red dot in the middle of the lens, which allows the soldier or hunter to quickly fix a specific target without having to increase or decrease the distance to the target.
Over the past year, Opticoelectron has unveiled its updated RDS 22 equivalent, which is better performing but still effective and still resistance as its predecessor.
