India intends to launch production of the Russian AK-203 rifle

NEW DELHI (BM) – The Indian army will soon sign a “memorandum of understanding” on Russian AK-203 assault rifles, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, quoting russian website Profile.

This involves the purchase of a batch of this small arms and launching its production in the country.

About 750 thousand units of AK-203 of Russian production will be delivered to India. The rest will be produced locally, writes The Hindu. The arms production will be undertaken by a joint Russian-Indian venture created with the participation of the Ordnance Factories Board and Rosoboronexport. According to officials, the production has the necessary licenses for export and start of work.

Earlier it was reported that India is buying from Russia the S-400 Triumph air defense system. It is planned that a total of five regiments of the latest anti-aircraft missile systems for $ 5.43 billion will be delivered.
