The US will spend $2 billion to service the F-35 in 2020

WASHINGTON, (BM) – The United States will spend $ 2 billion this year on the maintenance and support of 5-generation F-35 Lightning II multipurpose fighter jets consisting of the Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps (IMS), and the armed forces of a number of foreign customers, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.

This was stated in a statement released Tuesday by the Pentagon’s press service.

“Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $ 1.996 billion contract for the maintenance and logistical support of F-35 fighter jets armed with the United States Navy, Navy, and aliens. All work must be completed by December 2020,” the statement said.

Lockheed Martin has also been awarded a contract worth $ 172.21 million to purchase materials and individual components for 28 F-35 fighter jets of the 15th Navy and CMP production plant, as well as pay for the production of these machines.
