Missile attack to U.S. military base in Baghdad, rocket explodes near U.S. embassy

BAGHDAD, (BM) – A rocket exploded near the US Embassy in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, quoting Al-Arab news agency.

No casualties have been reported so far. The US diplomatic mission is located in the heavily fortified Green Zone, home to many embassies and government institutions.

After the incident, access to it is completely restricted, all roads to the US Embassy are closed.

There was also a rocket attack against the Balad military base in northern Baghdad, which houses US troops. According to Iraqi security forces, two Katyusha missiles have fallen into the base, Turkish Daily Sabah reported.
