Chinese analogue of Russian S-300 missile system has been delivered to Syria

DAMASCUS, (BM) – The Chinese news agency Sohu has confirmed the fact that the Syrian military has transferred the air defense and missile defense systems of the PRC, similar to the Russian S-300 air defense systems, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, according informational agency Sohu.

The systems have been handed over to the Syrian army a little over a year ago, but which have not yet participated in attacks on enemy aircraft.

“In addition to several old radars sent from Russia, a number of JY-27A phased array radars capable of detecting“ invisible fighters ”were also sent from China. In addition, there is also a three-axis long-range radar JYL-1, which is considered“ a nail in the eye ”and“ a thorn in the flesh. ”On the last day of 2019, the Syrian army deployed the Russian anti-aircraft complex Pantsir-C1 and the Chinese three-coordinate long-range radar JYL-1 at the base off the Aleppo-Khasaka M4 highway. The effective detection range of this radar reaches 320 km. The main goal is round-the-clock monitoring and the provision of accurate navigation data. In addition to this, JY-27VHF long-range surveillance radars are used in conjunction with them. In accordance with the situation announced by the Russian Ministry of Defense, a large quantity appears on the battlefield in Syria Chinese-made radars, which also exert unprecedented pressure on the US Air Force,” says Sohu.
