TEHRAN, (BM) – The United States tried to disrupt the naval exercises of Russia, Iran and China, which ended on December 30, reports Tasnim, referring to the commander of the Iranian Navy, Rear Admiral Hossein Hanzhan, learned

“During the joint naval maneuvers of Iran, Russia and China, the Americans and their allies held an emergency meeting aimed at disrupting our exercises with our two allies,” the agency quotes Hanzhan.

As the Iranian military noted, the distracting maneuvers of the participants in the exercises prevented the Americans from realizing their plan.

Earlier, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed the view that the United States began to get nervous when they learned that three large states are conducting joint exercises in the north of the Indian Ocean.

“Carrying out maneuvers of Iran, Russia and China in the Gulf of Oman is not an idle question – they made the destroyers nervous,” the FAN quotes the words of the Iranian head, which he said on the air of local television.

Rouhani emphasized that the teachings of the “three great forces” are unacceptable for the United States and Great Britain, as well as the Gulf countries, which the Iranian president called “small.”

The joint maneuvers of the naval forces of Iran, Russia and China under the name “Marine Safety Belt” were held from December 27 to 30 in the northern Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Oman. The military event was codenamed “Marine Safety Belt”. Previously, the Pentagon told RIA Novosti that the United States intends to follow the exercises of Russia, China and Iran.

At the same time, Iran during the naval exercises with Russia and China called on other countries to take part in this event, the local agency Mehr reports.

“Tehran invites all the states of [West Asian and South Asian] region to join the joint maneuvers of the Iranian, Russian and Chinese navies at their next stage,” quoted Rear Admiral Hossein Hanzadi, an agency of the Iranian army’s naval commander. He noted that “the safety of navigation should be ensured collectively by regional countries with maritime potential.”

On the day the exercises were completed, the US authorities said that instead of conducting joint military maneuvers, Russia and China should impose sanctions against Tehran. This was stated by a senior representative of the State Department, reports RIA Novosti.

“This is not the time for governments to conduct any military exercises with this regime. We think that now is the time to impose sanctions against the Iranian leadership for violating human rights,” he said.

Meanwhile, a military analyst, reserve captain 1st rank Vasily Dandykin, commenting on the US statement to the FAN, called this reaction by the US authorities “quite expected,” since the United States Presidential Administration and the Department of State do not like all reports about Iran, and even more about potential military allies.

“Americans consider themselves the world gendarme, declaring a rogue country of any rebellious geopolitical player. This situation perfectly demonstrates the intolerance of the United States, which considers the Middle East as a zone of its interests. The rebellious Tehran annoys them, as it defends its interests, helps Damascus cope with terrorists, and has influence in Iraq,” the source said.

He added that Tehran is “Washington’s longtime adversary.” Therefore, the analyst is sure, one should not have expected another reaction from the USA.

At the same time, Dandykin drew attention to the understanding of the United States that Russia, China and Iran “can restore order not only in the Strait of Hormuz, but throughout the Middle East.” Such a development of events, according to the interlocutor of the FAN, does not suit the American authorities.

However, Dandykin pointed out that “the triangle of the Russian Federation – Iran – China brings more benefits to world security and stability than the United States.”

It is worth noting that the State Department explained their call for the imposition of sanctions by the fact that “the Iranian regime killed 1.5 thousand of its citizens.” “Thousands were injured, 8 thousand innocents were sent to prison for demanding respect for human rights during the protests,” TASS quoted the representative of the US State Department.

“We never said that our sanctions will eliminate the asymmetric capabilities of modern [Iranian] terrorism. Our actions are aimed at depriving them of income for the dissemination of their foreign policy,” the department official assured.
