The US military is strengthening its position in Syria and returns to six military bases

DANASUC, (BM) – The US military is strengthening its position in northeastern Syria – in the area of ​​the border with Turkey and Iraq and in the areas of oil fields, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.

They note that against the background of Turkey’s military operation “Source of Peace“, the United States withdrew its military from 16 bases and roadblocks in Syria. After the suspension of the operation, the US military returned to six bases.

According to the Anadolu news agency, the US military is currently deployed at 11 bases and checkpoints in Syria. Five of them are in Hasek province, four in Deir ez-Zor and two in Raqqa.

In the province of Deir ez-Zor, the US military is building two more checkpoints.

According to the agency, the French military are deployed along with US Army personnel at four roadblocks in the Syrian provinces of Deir ez-Zor, Hasek and Raqqa.

About 200 French troops are deployed in areas controlled by Kurds from the Self-Defense Forces (SDF), which Ankara considers to be terrorists.

Turkish media claim that the French military are training Kurdish militias from the SDF.
