Russian reconnaissance ship performs unsafe maneuvers near coast of Florida, US officials said
WASHINGTON, (BM) – US officials said the Russian naval reconnaissance ship, Viktor Leonov, allegedly performs unsafe maneuvers in international waters off the coast of the United States, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, according CNN report.
According to the channel, the ship over the past few days was located off the coast of South Carolina and Florida. At the same time, the ship supposedly does not turn on some navigation lights when visibility is limited due to weather conditions and do not respond to requests from passing ships. In addition, the Russian ship, according to sources, carries out “other erratic maneuvers.”
CNN notes that the U.S. Coast Guard warns people on ships passing through this area that a Russian ship is present. Also nearby is an American destroyer, a Pentagon spokesman said, TASS reports.
