Two Russian strategic bombers fly over neutral waters of Sea of Japan and East China Sea
Two Russian Tupolev Tu-95MS strategic missile-carrying bombers have performed a scheduled 10-hour flight over the neutral waters of the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea escorted by Sukhoi Su-35S fighters and an A-50 long-range radar surveillance plane, the Defense Ministry of Russia reported on Wednesday.
“Two Tu-95MS strategic missile-carrying bombers of the Aerospace Force performed a planned flight over the neutral waters of the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea. During their flight, the long-range aircraft were escorted by the crews of Su-35S fighter jets and an A-50 long-range radar surveillance plane of Russia’s Aerospace Force. The flight lasted more than 10 hours,” the statement says.
“At some stages of the flight route, the crews of Tu-95MS aircraft were shadowed by a pair of F-15 and F-16 fighters (the Air Force of South Korea) and F-2 planes (the Air Force of Japan),” according to the statement.
Russia’s long-range aircraft pilots regularly perform flights in strict compliance with the International Rules of Using the Airspace without violating the borders of other states, the Defense Ministry stressed.
Israeli Air Force confirms loss of military transport helicopter
The Israeli Air Force press service confirmed the loss of one of the military transport helicopters. We are talking about the rotorcraft Yasur. This is the Israeli name for Sikorsky CH-53.
Reports say the Israeli air force helicopter caught fire in the air. Flames engulfed the engine, after which the car began an emergency landing. But in the end, it was not possible to save the helicopter – the rotorcraft completely burned out.
Emergency landing took place in the northern part of the Negev desert, in the area of the settlement of Beit Kama.
A senior IDF officer noted that a technical engine malfunction was the cause of the fire. Rumors are refuted that the helicopter could have been fired from the ground. Such rumors arose against the backdrop of reports of a new phase in the exacerbation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and that machine gun fire was opened from the Gaza Strip over Israeli aircraft.
Media: NATO cannot protect Europe without US involvement
The German Analytical Institute, which advises the German government and parliament on foreign and security policy – the Science and Politics Foundation (SWP) – in its report states that NATO cannot fulfill its tasks without the participation of the United States. This is written by the Polish portal wnp.pl.
Currently, the document says, the Alliance is experiencing an extremely difficult period in its stories, and he is shaken by internal divisions, and many of its members are not sufficiently armed.
At the same time, without the USA, the bloc is not capable of much. In particular, the function of nuclear deterrence, if any, will be forced to take on Britain and France.
