Iraq and 13 Other Countries Want to Buy Russia’s S-400 Missile Defense System
MOSCOW, (BM) – Russia’s S-400 defense system is beginning to take a strong position in the international market for air defense systems. In the last 12 hours, it has become clear that another Middle Eastern country [Iraq] is also looking to buy the Russian S-400 system.
Negotiations between Iraq and Russia have already begun, to which several Russian publications inform us, as well as the official representative of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Maria Vorobyova.
“The Russian side has negotiated with Iraq on the delivery of S-400 Triumph air defense systems. A corresponding production and delivery proposal has been sent to the Iraqi side. A response from them is expected,” said Vorobyeva in Dubai Ayrshaw.
We remind you that several countries already have Russian air defense systems in place. Iran, Greece, Bulgaria and Syria have S-300 systems in use, Russia, Turkey, China and India are using C-400 systems.
There are rumors that a S-400 system has been left in Serbia, which we reported days ago.
Despite the threat of sanctions, neither Turkey nor India have abandoned the purchase of Russian S-400 systems. According to the latest information, India has already paid for the production and delivery of the ordered air defense systems and they are expected to be delivered by 2025.
The S-400 is one of the most effective and advanced in military technology air defense system. Featuring an exceptional ballistic radius and range, the system is controlled by radar technology that can detect any type of aircraft, drone or missile, including those using stealth technology.
America`s CNBC television reported late last night (November 18th) that according to US intelligence sources, 13 countries are currently seriously interested and ready to send a request to the Russian Federation to buy the S-400 defense systems.
Yesterday, we announced that one of these countries is Saudi Arabia, with advanced negotiations already under way and the chance of the deal being quite large.
Other countries on the US intelligence list are Qatar, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt and Vietnam.
