The S-400 Will Significantly Increase the Level of the Indian Defense
NEW DELHI, (BM) – Against the background of the visit of the Indian Minister of Defense Rajnat Singh to Russia, the Indian media decided once again to discuss the purchase of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems from the Russian Federation. Recall that the contract has already been signed. According to the Indian side, the total amount of the contract is 5,43 billion dollars.
The majority of Indian experts speaking out about this deal note that the S-400 regiments will significantly increase the level of the Indian air defense system. Some experts are “concerned” with the value of the contract. Statements from a typical Indian series: “One could bargain.”
The Minister of Defense of India, turning to Russian manufacturers, urged them to actively participate in the “Do in India” program. According to Rajnat Singh, today’s growth of the Indian economy allows foreign companies to receive significant dividends if at least part of the production is transferred to Indian territory.
Rajnat Singh himself, while visiting the Russian Federation, once again spoke out that the S-400 air defense systems are excellent in quality air defense systems.
Meanwhile, an article by the author Shiv Nalapat appeared in the Times Times News Indian newspaper, which says that the Russian complex “has not yet shown itself in combat conditions.” The material notes that S-400 has excellent characteristics, “but so far has not demonstrated them in practice.”
From the material: “Military experts argue that the Russian anti-aircraft system is just as or even more combat-ready than its western counterparts. With its modular design and extreme mobility, the S-400 can be quickly deployed and prepared to hit targets in minutes. Despite the fact that S-400 is respected as formidable weaponproviding numerous tactical advantages, the air defense system was still largely unexperienced in a real combat situation. Russia had the opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of the S-400 systems that it deployed in Syria in April 2018 against American Tomahawk missiles, but it refrained from doing so.”
Apparently, the Indian expert Shiv Nalapat seriously believes that the air defense system manifests itself “in real battle” solely by the method of firing anti-aircraft missiles and nothing else …
Further in the article, it is stated that the S-400 will soon “lose the status of an advanced anti-aircraft missile system, since the S-500 will appear in Russia.”
