She said the US military’s actions against oil fields in northeast Syria are illegal.
“It cannot fail to raise questions from the international community when a civilized state, endlessly stating its attachment to certain democratic values and international legal foundations in relations, pumps oil from deposits in northeastern Syria – a sovereign state, concealing its criminal activity under the pretext of fighting the Islamic State (ID). I would remind that the ID, according to allies, was finally destroyed in March this year. This does not cover much with the US position,” said the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry.
US Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Mark Millie said Monday that the US intends to maintain control of the oil fields of the Konoko Company in Deir i Zour province in Syria, as well as its base in At Tanf, in Syria.
