China Has Discovered the Unique Ability of Russian S-500 Missile System

MOSCOW, (BM) – The latest Russian missile and air defense systems S-500 “Prometheus” will surpass any modern air defense system in effectiveness, write the Chinese media, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, quoting Sina news agency.

Thanks to its characteristics, the new air defense system will take the place of the S-400 as the most advanced Russian missile defense system, Sina reports, quoted RIA Novosti.

The author of the publication recalls that, according to experts, the S-500 has the ability to knock down meteorites.

In 2013, a meteorite with a diameter of about 20 meters fell in the vicinity of Chelyabinsk, flying apart. The heavenly body crossed the atmosphere at a speed of 67,600 kilometers per hour.

“But in Russian social networks this incident was called the “miracle of the S-500’s work,” because, as they say, while the test tests of the new S-500 air defense system were carried out, which intercepted this meteorite and successfully destroyed it, thanks to which the Earth didn’t suffer in any way,” the publication says.

The newspaper Vzglyad spoke about the capabilities of the S-500 air defense system (Prometheus), and also explained why the American media praised the latest Russian technology.
