Indian is Not Planning to Buy Russia`s Su-57 Fighter Jet
NEW DELHI, (BM) – A loud statement was made by the Chief of Staff of the Indian Air Force, Air Marshal Rakesh Bhadauria. Marshall said that the Indian Air Force “will soon have its own fifth-generation multirole fighter”, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
“India will soon have fighters that can compete with the American F-22 and F-35, the Chinese Chengdu J-20 and the Russian Su-57 company Sukhoi. The development of an improved fifth-generation fighter was begun and is being carried out with significant acceleration”, Air Force Chief of Staff Rakesh Bhadauria said.
This program in India is called AMCA. It was previously claimed that this is not even the fifth, but the sixth generation of fighters that will receive the Indian Air Force. However, until now it was usually added that these aircraft could appear in service with parts of the Indian Air Force no earlier than 2030 of the year.
Now, Rakesh Bhadauria used the word “soon” to talk about the appearance of AMCA fighters in the Air Force. How exactly “soon” did not specify.
Indian Air Marshal quoted by Indian media: “We will use our own fifth-generation invisible fighter, no other.”
Thus, the headquarters of the Indian Air Force made it clear that the New Delhi Su-57 does not plan to buy from Russia. Earlier, India withdrew from a joint program to create a new generation of FGFA fighter, in which she participated with Russian specialists.
AMCA is a new generation Indian single-seat fighter program. It is planned that the fighter will carry weapons, including in the internal compartments, will have an Indian-made engine, “providing high maneuverability.”
Statements about the imminent appearance of such a fighter in India look at the moment more statements for internal use.
Indian user comment on marshal’s words: “With these ads, we ourselves will mock ourselves. The article begins by saying that “India will soon have a 5 generation aircraft competing with the F-22 and F-35.” This only shows how far we are from a realistic assessment of what is needed to develop the 5 generation aircraft. We are having problems even with the full production of Tejas in quantities in order to have any effect, and we continue to develop the 5 generation aircraft without the single technology needed to create it. They do not seem to have a clue what they are talking about. They get confused between what they want and what is expected. It can be assumed that something will appear no earlier than 2035 of the year.”
