British Air Force Plans no More Purchases of Eurofighter Typhoon

According to the British Ministry of Defense, the country’s air force transferred the last aircraft of this model, assembled at the company BAE Systems.
The British Air Force received the last Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 fighter, the ceremony of handing over the aircraft took place on September 27 at the British arms giant BAE Systems in Wharton. In total, from the 2003 year to the present, the Royal Air Force has received 160 Eurofighter Typhoon fighters, the British Defense Ministry does not intend to acquire these aircraft more. At least, no statements of such intentions have yet been received.

It should be noted that the British Air Force is one of the largest customers of this fighter. In total, they ordered 232 Typhoon under three agreements: 55 aircraft – on the first and 89 – on the second. Under the third contract, London was supposed to receive 88 fighters, but the planes delivered to Saudi Arabia went into its offset, which allowed to reduce the order to 16 units. Thus, the British Air Force received 160 Eurofighter Typhoon fighters, which are armed with eight units, four of which are deployed in Scotland, three in England and one more in the Falkland Islands.

The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine multi-role fighter of the 4 generation with a duck design and a triangular wing. Later modifications of this fighter belong to the generation of 4 + or 4 ++. Available in four versions: one option for each country included in the consortium (Britain, Germany, Italy and Spain). For the first time, Typhoon flew in the 1994 year, and was mass-produced in the 2003 year. Almost a dozen countries are in service, including Austria, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Germany, Saudi Arabia. Expected to ship to Qatar.
