The Swedish JAS 39 Gripen Has Dominated Over the Russian Su-27

BEIJING, (BM) – The Chinese media published material in which they decided to analyze the well-known statement of the Swedish Air Force commander that the Swedish JAS 39 Gripen fighters are “real lions of air combat.”, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.

The publication cites as an example the military exercises “Eagle-2015”, which were conducted jointly by the Air Force of China and Thailand. This is the case when Swedish and Russian-made aircraft were involved. Thus, the Thai Air Force fired JAS 39 Gripen fighters, and the PLA Air Force – several Su-27 (modification of the Su-27SC) and J-11.

From a message from Chinese reporters: “The Swedish commander’s statement seems somewhat arrogant, but in fact, the Chinese Su-27 Air Force did have problems from the Thai Air Force JAS 39 Gripen. During the joint 2015 exercises of the year, their Gripenes defeated the Su-27, which were already over 20 years old”.

The same material notes that following the results of the Eagle-2015 exercises, the Thai military said that the four confrontations held during the maneuvers of the confrontation won the JAS-39 delivered to Thailand in the 2013 year.

An article in the Chinese media notes that China did not pay much attention to the results of the exercises at that time and continued to operate its J-11 fighters in the previous volumes. J-11 is a Chinese licensed copy of the Su-27 fighter.
