Russia Develops Navigation System That is not Based on the Signals from the Satellites

MOSCOW, (BM) – Russia continues the development of the navigation system (global positioning) of the new generation, learned, quoting Topwar.

According the media, this is a system that in determining the coordinates of the object will not use the satellites. It is assumed that such a system will be significantly more reliable satellite, including in connection with the independence of the work on the climatic conditions and the presence of any obstacles (mountains, tunnels, etc.).

Russian scientists say that it is a navigation system that is not based on the signals from the satellites, and on the method of analysis of the gravity.

What is it?

Speaking simply, it is the Registered curvature of the earth’s surface. Thus, each point of the earth’s surface experiences the force of gravity, and these forces are at different points differ (even indicators of the gravitational acceleration at every point is different – a small percentage).

The reason is linked including the fact that the points are on “their” altitude above sea level (or below this level). The points have their own gravitational potentials. And if all these parameters are taken into account mathematically, it is possible with the help of computer technology to create a coordinate system – based on the account of gravitational characteristics of land surface of our planet.

Such an approach will determine the coordinates with a high degree of accuracy not only on the Earth’s surface, but also in any of its layer, under water and in the sky.

This method is already interested in the military, as the method of determining the coordinates of gravity will not only accelerate the process of global positioning for high-precision weapons , but also to increase the accuracy in various environments. Approach is relevant, for example, the use of precision weapons over long distances on board submarines.
