The Contract for the Purchase of F-16 Block 70s Was Promulgated in the State Gazette on July 30

SOFIA, (BM) – The contract for the purchase of 8 new F-16 Block 70s figher aircrafts with the United States was promulgated in the State Gazette on July 30, learned, quoting Bulgarian National Television.

The Industrial Cooperation contract was also promulgated, as well as the state budget amendment for the transaction. Bulgaria has until 5 September to transfer the money under the contracts, announced the chair of the Defence Committee, General Konstantin Popov.

Bulgaria will pay close to BGN 2 billion and 200 million for the acquisition of 8 new aircrafts for the needs of the Air Force. The first four are expected to arrive in 2023 and the remaining four are expected to arrive in 2024.
