PANAGYURISHTE, (BM) – Your briefly report on July 31 in last twelve hours from BulgarianMilitary.com:

Libyan Government of National Accord: ‘Haftar hiring foreign forces to attack Tripoli’

Major General Osama Joueili, Commander of the Western Military Region of the Government of National Accord (GNA), announced that his forces took “unexpected” countermeasures in anticipation of an external air attack on the capital Tripoli, MEMO reported.

In a video interview posted on Operation Volcano of Wrath Facebook page, Joueili revealed the availability of “intelligence information about airstrikes on Tripoli carried out by (unnamed) foreign forces, which have been recruited from abroad.”

The military commander in the internationally recognised GNA warned that the possible attack “would provoke a reaction and unexpected countermeasures.”

As for the seizure of French weapons in Gharyan (south of Tripoli), Joueili explained that the Libyan Presidential Council, which has formally asked France to clarify the matter, is still waiting for a response.

He continued: “The French are claiming that the weapons are unserviceable and will be destroyed. However, Libya is not a dumping ground (…), and these statements are not convincing.”

Turkish military shipment arrives at Syrian border

Turkey sent military reinforcements to its southern Sanliurfa province late Tuesday, according to Anadolu Agency reporters on the ground. (MEMO)

A 12-vehicle military convoy, including armored vehicles carrying commando units and buses, arrived in the province’s Ceylanpinar district as part of Turkey’s recent military reinforcements along the border with Syria.

Turkey’s leaders have said it might launch a third counter-terror operation into Syria, following two successful ones since 2016.

The convoy entered the 1st Division Border Company Command accompanied by gendarmerie forces.

Air regiment in central Russia rearmed with latest Su-35 fighter jets

An air regiment of the Western Military District stationed in the Tver Region in central Russia has completed its rearmament with the generation 4++ Su-35S fighter jets under the defense procurement plan, the District’s press office told TASS on Wednesday.

“The fighter regiment of the Western Military District has completed forming a squadron of generation 4++ Su-35S super-maneuverable fighters for its permanent deployment in the Tver Region. Overall, the manufacturing plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur delivered six planes in July under the defense procurement plan,” the press office said in a statement.

The new Su-35 fighters will replace the air regiment’s outdated aircraft pool. Military pilots and technicians accepted the new aircraft on the premises of the manufacturing plant in the Khabarovsk Region in the Russian Far East. The pilots underwent re-training in Lipetsk where they used special simulators to learn to perform aerobatic maneuvers at full speeds and loads.
