The C-17 and C-5 Aircraft Will Receive New MJU-53/B Countermeasure Flares Totaling $180 Million

WASHINGTON, (BM) – The C-17 and C-5 aircraft will receive new MJU-53/B countermeasure flares totaling $180 million, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, according US DoD statement.

According the statement two companies have been awarded to produce and delivere the countermeasure flares.

Kilgore Flares has been awarded a $90,000,000 and work will be performed at Toone, Tennessee, and is expected to be completed by July 2023.

This contract involves foreign military sales, however, the countries are unknown at this time.

The second company – Armtec Countermeasures has been awarded a $90,000,000 and work will be performed at Camden, Arkansas, and is expected to be completed by July 2023.
