Iran: Palestinians Have ‘Precision Missiles; Bomb Attack in Somalia`s Capital; Large-Scale Drills in Russia

PANAGYURISHTE, (BM) – Your briefly report on July 22 in last twelve hours from BulgarianMilitary.com:

Khamenei: Palestinians have ‘precision missiles’ to resist US peace plan

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei met Monday with a delegation from the Palestinian terror group Hamas and held talks with its deputy chief, Saleh al-Arouri, who is heading the delegation, The Times of Israel reported.

Khamenei told the Hamas officials that supporting the Palestinians “is an ideological and religious matter” and strongly condemned the Mideast peace plan pushed by US President Donald Trump’s administration, which he said the Palestinians have “precision missiles” to resist.

“The dangerous conspiracy of the ‘Deal of the Century’ is aimed at destroying the Palestinian identity among the Palestinian public and youth,” an English statement on his website quoted him as saying.

“Confronting the Deal of the Century requires promotional, cultural, and intellectual efforts and the other method is to make the Palestinians feel advancement. Today Palestinians are equipped with precision missiles rather than stones and this means the feeling of advancement,” Khamenei added.

At least 17 killed in bomb attack in Somalia capital

At least 17 people were killed and 28 others wounded when a bomb went off outside a hotel near the international airport in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Monday, medical officials said and Reuters reported.

The Al Qaeda-linked Islamist group al Shabaab, which is trying to topple Somalia’s weak U.N.-backed government, claimed responsibility for the attack.

The city’s Madina hospital received 17 bodies and 28 people with injuries, 12 of them in a critical condition, said Mohammed Yusuf, the hospital’s director.

The blast went off at the first checkpoint on the road that leads to Mogadishu airport, said Farah Hussein, a shopkeeper who witnessed the attack.

Somalia has been riven by civil war since 1991, when clan warlords overthrew a dictator, then turned on each other.

Large-scale reconnaissance drills kick off in 7 Russian regions and Tajikistan

Over 5,000 reconnaissance troops from Russia’s Central Military District are involved in drills that are underway in Siberia, the Urals and the Volga area and also in Tajikistan, TASS and the District’s press office reported on Monday.

“The drills involve the personnel of units and formations stationed in the Altai, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Samara and Chelyabinsk Regions, and also in Tyva and the Republic of Tajikistan. Overall, the drills involve more than 5,000 servicemen,” the press office said in a statement.

The drills that will last through July 26 will practice measures for gathering information about the places of a notional enemy’s location, the press office said.

“The reconnaissance personnel will also practice organizing and conducting ambushes, raids, scouting patrols, camouflaging techniques, stealthy movements on the terrain and other special assignments,” the statement says.
