Iran Threatens Britain Again, London is Sending Second Warship in the Gulf Region

DUBAI, LONDOM, (BM) – Britain will soon be “slapped in the face” for the capture of an Iranian supertanker last week, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, quoting Reutres.

“Iran’s strong establishment will soon slap Britain in the face for daring to seize the Iranian oil tanker,” cleric Kazem Sedighi told worshippers during Tehran’s Friday prayer sermon, Iranian state TV reported.

Earlier Iran called on Britain to immediately release the oil tanker that British Royal Marines seized last week on suspicion it was breaking European sanctions by taking oil to Syria.

At the same time Britain is sending a second warship to the Gulf amid growing tensions with Iran after Royal Marines seized an Iranian tanker off the coast of Gibraltar last week.

Sky News said the destroyer HMS Duncan, which had been earmarked for deployment in the region anyway although not so soon, would sail to the Gulf in the next few days to join the frigate HMS Montrose.

Britain’s Ministry of Defence had no immediate comment on the report.
