In the Event of Conflict, Poland Becomes a Target, Russia Says About the US Drones in Poland
MOSCOW, (BM) – Russia is worried about the US plan to deploy spy unmanned aerial vehicles in Poland, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said yesterday, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, quoting Reuters.
On this and on sending of American troops to Poland, Presidents Andrzej Duda and Donald Trump agreed last night at a meeting in the White House.
Ryabkov emphasized that Washington’s decision demonstrated “aggressive intentions”.
Trump has promised Duda to deploy 1,000 American soldiers and drones MQ-9 in Poland that wants protection against potential aggression from Russia.
Earlier today, Russian members of parliament said that this plan would not remain without answer and would force Moscow to take measures.
“In the event of any conflict, God forbid, the territory of Poland would become a clear target for a retaliatory strike, if there was suddenly an attack on us,” Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, said.
Another member of parliament, Ex- Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Airborne Troops Vladimir Shamanov, now Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense, said he was worried about the possibility that the US drones could potentially be armed with nuclear weapons.
