Shabla 2019 Joint Tactical Combat Exercise to Be Held In June

SOFIA (BM) – Shabla 2019 will take place from June 4 to June 14, 2019, at the National Air Defence Training Centre “Shabla”, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.

It will include up to 1,200 servicemen from the Air Force (Graf Ignatievo and Krumovo Air Bases, formations of the anti-aircraft missile troops, logistics and communications experts and subdivisions), Land Forces (air defence formations from the 2nd Mechanized Brigade, Brigade Command – Blagoevgrad, Joint Center for Initial Training and the 101st Alpine Mountain Regiment;  self-propelled battery from the 4th Artillery Regiment in Asenovgrad, logistics support formations) and Navy (anti-aircraft shooters and shooter-operators of the Navy and ships to ensure the safety of the conduct of the exercise).

Shabla 2019 will also host up to 80 servicemen from the US Army Air Force Command in Europe with the corresponding armament (up to 6 Avenger and up to 6 Stinger surface-to-air missile systems).
