Bulgaria Will Receive the Most Advanced F-16 Fighter Jet at the Best Possible Price

SOFIA, Bulgaria (BulgarianMilitary.com) – F-16 jet fighters price is high but reasonable, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, according US Ambasador statement.

“Bulgaria will receive the most advanced F-16 fighter jet at the best possible price”, US Ambassador to Sofia Eric Rubin said. “I think the price is reasonable. I understand that it is a high price, but we will be supporting the needs of Bulgaria in the realities it is in. I assure you that when the deal is completed you will have the most advanced combat aircraft. This will improve both the security of Bulgaria and NATO and thus Bulgaria would become a strategic partner. Take a look at the whole package and you will understand that the US commitment is to support the Bulgarian army and aviation”, Rubin added.

BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that a Bulgarian delegation has left for Washington yesterday to negotiate the acquisition of a new type of combat aircraft for the Bulgarian army.

According Krasimir Karakachanov statement weeks ago, Bulgaria will expect its first F-16 fighters after 36 months.

F-16 Block 70 features the advanced AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar based on technology used in F-22 and F-35. The radar can track 20 targets simultaneously and has a range greater than 160 nautical miles against ground targets, which is significantly much more than the range of the other fourth-generation fighters.

BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that Lockheed Martin’s new F-16 production line, where Bulgaria’s new fleet of F-16 Block 70 fighters will be manufactured, was officially inaugurated in Greenville on on April 24.
