Strategic Partnership Agreement for Naval Group

KESWICK, Adelaide, South Australia ( – On 11th February 2019 Naval Group Australia boasted of signing the Future Submarine Program Strategic Partnering Agreement (SPA) with the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA), learned

The signing of the agreement was performed in the presence of Prime Minister Scott Morrison, The Hon. Christopher Pyne, Minister for Defence and Florence Parly, French Minister for the Armed Forces.

The principles of cooperation between the two partners are determined in the agreement in relation to the Attack class Submarine Program.

Twelve regionally superior submarines with leading edge capabilities will be delivered to Australia under that Submarine Program, as well as new technologies and advanced manufacturing capabilities, introducing the next phase of Australian sovereignty as a submarine nation.

Of course, thanks to the implementation of the Program, it will be created thousands of direct and indirect Australian job, as well as opportunities and long-term planning certainty for industry.

Since the selection of Naval Group as Australia’s partner for the Attack class Submarine Program in April 2016, a lot has been achieved, and for Naval Group Australia in particular that includes establishment of the headquarters of Naval Group Australia in Keswick, successful ISO 9001 certification, expansion of the Naval Group Australia team from 15 employees to over 100 with expectations by 2028-2029, when production is in full swing, 1,600 people to be employed.
