Embraer Announced a Successful First Flight Its KC-390 Multi-Mission Aircraft

GAVIÃO PEIXOTO, Brazil (BulgarianMilitary.com) – The headquartered in Brazil global company with businesses in commercial and executive aviation, defence and security Embraer announced last week that on 9th October 2018 it has achieved another important milestone through the completion of the maiden flight of the first series production multi-mission medium aircraft KC-390, learned BulgarianMilitary.com

Jackson Schneider, President and CEO of Embraer Defence and Security, commented, “Today we celebrate another important milestone into the production of the KC-390. This aircraft combines outstanding flexibility with superior performance and productivity”.

Now, in accordance with an agreement with the Brazilian Air Force, the aircraft will join the flight test campaign, in which more than 1,900 flight hours have already been logged. The Brazilian aviation authority ANAC (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil) will grant the basic aircraft a civil certification.

The Embraer KC-390 is a medium-sized, twin-engine jet-powered military transport aircraft developed so that to set new standards in its category and at the same time it will have the lowest life-cycle cost of the market. It is the heaviest aircraft of the company as of the moment. It designated for various missions, including transportation of cargo and troops, aerial refuelling, forest fire fighting, as well as search and rescue. The aircraft will be able to transport up to 26 tonnes (29 tons) of cargo, including wheeled armoured fighting vehicles.
