The Israeli company RADA Electronic Industries Ltd. announced on Monday, 3 September 2018, that the company has received new radar orders, including for its advanced eCHR radar, at the amount of $3.5 million for a U.S. military customer, learned BulgarianMilitary.com
The orders have been placed by a current customer that is a leading US military force. They are recurring follow-on orders for the MHR-based counter-UAV surveillance solutions of RADA, including a first order for its advanced eCHR radar as already mentioned above.
The eCHR is a derivative of the Compact Hemispheric Radar (CHR) of RADA, presently used for combat vehicles as Active Protection Systems (APS) and Hostile Fire Detection (HFD) solutions. The eCHR features much improved detection and tracking ranges, as well as advanced beam forming and additional technological enhancements, and thus ensuring important performance enhancement in highly demanding battlefield environments. All these characteristics make the eCHR an excellent choice for Vehicle Protection Systems (VPS), APS, Counter-UAV and perimeter surveillance solutions.
It is scheduled the deliveries under these orders to be carried out in 2018.
“We are seeing strong and growing momentum in the US market, cantered around counter-drone (C-UAV) and very short range air defence (VSHORAD) demand. Our advanced, software-defined and multi-mission eCHR radar, ordered at this stage for C-UAV use, introduces improved performance for active protection systems (APS) for combat vehicles as well. We see excellent potential to become a common solution for a wide variety of protection missions for the manoeuvre force,” said Dov Sella, CEO at RADA.
RADA Electronic Industries Ltd. is an Israel-based defence electronics company that develops, manufactures and sales Tactical Land Radars for Force and Border Protection, and Avionics Systems (including Inertial Navigation Systems) for fighter aircraft and UAVs.
