DynCorp International Received a Maintenance Contract to Support the US Air Force

Last week DynCorp International (DI) announced that the U.S. Department of Defence has awarded the company an aircraft maintenance contract to support the U.S. Air Force at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, learned BulgarianMilitary.com

DI will provide executive airlift maintenance support for all management, personnel and equipment. The services, which will be executed under the contract, include fixed-wing flight line and back shop maintenance for the 89th Airlift Wing aircraft, as well as back shop support services to the 811th Operations Group rotary-wing aircraft from 1st September 20188 till 29th February 2024.

The total value of the contract, if all included options are exercised, is $203.1 million. The agreement covers a base year and four option years plus an additional six-month option period.

The 89th Airlift Wing of the U.S. Air Force is based at Joint Base Andrews and has an operational force of over 1,000 personnel. The 89th provides global Special Air Mission airlift, logistics, aerial port and communications for the President, Vice President, Combat Commanders, senior leaders and the global mobility system as tasked by the White House, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and Air Mobility Command.

The 811th Operations Group consists of two squadrons of highly skilled, experienced, and motivated aircrew and support personnel. The 1st Helicopter Squadron executes the Air Force District of Washington’s only flying mission and conducts distinguished visitor airlift missions. The 811th Operations Support Squadron supports the no-fail contingency airlift mission and provides aviation related services to joint customers and aircrew world-wide.
