US Army Awards Comtech $32.5 Million Contract for Manpack Satellite Terminals Delivery

On 13 August, Comtech Telecommunications Corp. has made an announcement that in the period of company’s fourth quarter of the fiscal 2018, the group Command and Control Technologies, part of Comtech’s Government Solutions segment, was awarded new orders by the U.S. Army PM Tactical Network. The received orders are for the company to provide Manpack Satellite Terminals and networking equipment with total amount of $32.5 million, learned

In a statement of President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., Fred Kornberg, he said his satisfaction of the opportunity that the company has to provide such mission essential equipment to their customer. He added that his team fully understands the critical importance of these Army units and it is on the way to implement them in order to support the rapid fielding. Fred Kornberg also defined the new Global Tactical Advanced Communication Systems (GTACS) contract orders, as reinforcement of their partnership in supporting the U.S. war fighters.

Responsible for the execution of the new orders is Comtech’s Command & Control Technologies group, which is a part of the company’s Government Solutions segment. The group is a major provider of mission-critical, highly-mobile C4ISR solutions.

Last month, the company was awarded a contract for orders, worth $10.6 million. The subject of which is the provision of Manpack Satellite Terminals and networking equipment to the Defense Logistics Agency SATCOM Program Office and Headquarters United States Marine Corps.

Previously in March, Comtech Telecommunications Corp. has signed a three year contract, valued at approximately $123.6 million, for the provision of ongoing sustainment services for the AN/TSC-198A SNAP (Secret Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) and Non-classified Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) Access Point), Very Small Aperture Terminals (VSATs). Responsible for the orders is Comtech’s Command & Control Technologies group. SNAP terminals provide rapid and mobile satellite communications capability to military personnel in the field and Comtech will be the only provider of these sustainment services.

The US Army PM Tactical Network continues to make improvements of the army’s tactical network, in means of enhancing the way the network is managed, operated and defended. It also provides an expeditionary, modular “tool kit” of unified satellite and capabilities of radio network transport.
