The Düsseldorf-based high-tech group Rheinmetall and its Swiss subsidiary Rheinmetall Air Defence have signed €20 Million Fieldguard Systems contract for delivery of four Fieldguard 3 measurement systems to two unnamed countries, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
That was announced by Rheinmetall Defence on Friday last week, 6th July 2018, in a press release. The prime contractor under the agreement is Avibras of Brazil, and Rheinmetall is a subcontractor.
The Fieldguard is an active fire control system that measures the flight path of projectiles for the purposes of assuring maximum accuracy during target engagement. The system is designed to cover distances of up to 100 km.
One of the countries purchases for the first-time one of these systems and the other one is expanding its existing capacity by three systems as announced by Rheinmetall. Deliveries are scheduled to be completed by the end of next year.
The subcontractor Rheinmetall acts in support of the ASTROS 2020 multiple rocket launcher program. The launched is made by Avibras.
The open and professional partnership shown by Rheinmetall and Avibras is a wonderful example of international cooperation in the defence technology sector and consider other good opportunities for growth especially in Asia.
The mentioned above agreement confirms once again that Rheinmetall is reliable partner in the field of air defence.
