Russia May Boast with at Least Six Super Weapons

Russia may boast with at least six weapons, which are even better than their western analogues. These innovative weapons are being delivered to the Russian Army under a Program scheduled to be completed by 2027 as stated by the Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov, quoted by the Russian newspaper Military-Industrial Courier, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.

The Russian military expert Konstantin Sivkov commented recently the situation saying that Russia has “excellent missile weapons, but the army has little of them,” and “the US weapons are worse, but the Army has many of them.”

The above mentioned advanced super weapons involve the strategic missile complex, launching intercontinental ballistic missiles “Sarmat”; the fifth generation jet fighter Su-57; the T-14 Armata main battle tank; the mobile surface-to-air missile/anti-ballistic missile system S-500; the mobile anti-satellite complex “Nudol”; and the mobile system for radio electronic jamming of satellite communications “Tirada-2S”.

Experts of the high-circulation daily broadsheet Russian newspaper “Izvestia” commented announcements in the Russian press that the strategic Tu-22M3 bombers will be equipped by 4 (per an aircraft) of the newest hypersonic missile “Kinzhal” (translated from Russian: “dagger”). The latter was presented by the president Vladimir Putin in March at a session of the Parliament.

The newspaper further clarified that the Kinzhal is an air-launched variant of the Iskander tactical surface to surface ballistic missile and that this option features a higher maximum speed and bigger range of up to 2000 km. Thus the capabilities of the Tu-22M3s will be highly increased in relation to long distance targets and thus zones, where the bombers are vulnerable to the hostile air defence, will be avoided. Experts explain that in this way Russia does not breach the agreement on the missiles of average and shorter range, limitting the manufacturing, testing and deployment of ground missiles with range from 500 to 2500 km.

“Izvestia” further explained, “Of course, the system is purely striking, but within the Russian military doctrine it has a defensive function. In case of a hypothetical collision between Russia and NATO on the European continent, the “daggers”, mostly in their non-nuclear option, are expected to become the major means of destroying the rear infrastructure of the Alliance by blocking the transfer of troops and equipment and impeding the command of the military actions.”

According to the newspaper the development and usage of similar weapons aims at “putting off as long as possible the moment when the only effective means of counteracting will be the use of nuclear weapons.” In regard to that the daily newspaper also pointed out that it would have been strange if there were not nuclear variants of the “daggers.”
