NDMA Places a Second Order for Saab’s Carl-Gustaf Ammunition

The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) has placed a second order at the amount of $12.5 million for Saab’s ammunition for the Carl-Gustaf man-portable weapon system with delivery in 2018, reported Shephrad Media.

That was announced by Saab on Monday, 4th June.

“This is the second order from the Norwegian customer since we signed the framework contract and for us this is a clear proof of their trust in our ammunition portfolio. The Norwegian armed forces has been a user of the Carl-Gustaf system for many years and we know that they only want the best ammunition for their soldiers,” said the head of Saab´s business area Dynamics, Görgen Johansson.

The ammunition is purchased for the needs of the Armed Forces of Norway, which presently use both M2 and M3 versions of the Carl-Gustaf. The Carl-Gustaf is a multi-role man-portable shoulder-fired weapon system, featuring high versatility. The M3 version shows significant weight reduction and improvements for urban operations.

The new order is made under the conditions of the Carl-Gustaf ammunition framework agreement of Saab concluded with the NDMA in 2017. It is agreed in that framework agreement that orders for live and training ammunition rounds may be made by the customer within the period from 2017 to 2022.
