Rheinmetall‘s advanced air defence technology will go to an Asian customer under an order at the amount of over €100 million. This was announced from the Company on 23rd April.
This month, an Asian nation has signed a contract with Rheinmetall for supply of the latest generation of Rheinmetall’s Skyshield systems. Rheinmetall Air Defence was awarded the contract in a competitive bidding process.
The systems are already being manufactured and deliveries will take place within the next three years.
The agreements covers supply of reconnaissance sensors, 35mm fire units, and the accompanying command and control equipment, as well as provision of comprehensive logistics and service package. The operators and maintenance personnel will be further completely trained by Rheinmetall and technical assistance and live fire exercise support in the customer country will be provided.
Local Asian companies will be also involved in the Project through activities including construction of buildings and vehicle procurement.
The agreement is of great commercial importance to Rheinmetall and follow-up orders are already on the horizon. The project shows once again the global leading position of Rheinmetall in the sphere of state-of-the-art short-range air defence systems.
Rheinmetall is an international powerful corporation based in Düsseldorf. It is the management holding company of the Rheinmetall Group featuring two sectors – Rheinmetall Defence and Rheinmetall Automotive.
